The Speaker of the House of Representatives,Abbas Tajuddeen has commissioned 110kVA solar power installation at Kongo Campus of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Speaker, who spoke during the Flag off of “Renewed Hope”Renewable energy solution projects across Zaria Federal Constituency held at Konco conference Hotel, Zaria.
The speaker explained that the project is part of a fresh wave of development interventions targeting electricity, education, skills acquisition and employment
Dr Abbas Tajodeen pointed out that the projects were designed to address some of the critical needs of the constituency while creating opportunities for young people to acquire practical skills and secure sustainable livelihoods.a
The speaker added that the solar project would reduce the institution’s dependence on conventional electricity supply and generators, while providing a more reliable source of power for its activities.l
He described the skills acquisition centre as an investment in human capital, stressing that training programmes should go beyond certificates and equip young people with practical abilities that could translate into employment, entrepreneurship and income.
