Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inaugurated 10 branded vehicles and 10 motorcycles provided to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support the activities of APC ward and local government structures in Rimi Local Government Area.
A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said the Governor performed the inauguration on Tuesday at the Rimi Local Government Secretariat Complex, describing the initiative by his Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, as a demonstration of commitment to strengthening grassroots structures and supporting community development.
Governor Radda said the large turnout and warm reception in Rimi reflected the longstanding relationship between his administration and the people of the local government.
“Rimi is home to us because we know the people of Rimi, and they know us. We have seen the support of Rimi since the beginning of our political journey,” he said.
The Governor explained that the longstanding relationship was one of the reasons his administration continued to prioritise important development interventions in the area, including the ongoing water project designed to extend water supply from Zobe Dam to communities in Rimi.
“We have seen the support from Rimi since the beginning of our journey. That is why, whenever we are considering important projects, Rimi Local Government is among the areas we consider,” Governor Radda said.
He commended the stakeholders, community leaders and people of Rimi for their continued support and cooperation, while appreciating Turaji for providing the vehicles and motorcycles to strengthen grassroots engagement.
“We came today to inaugurate the empowerment provided by a son of Rimi, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji. We thank him for this initiative,” the Governor said.
Governor Radda urged APC leaders and stakeholders to sustain grassroots mobilisation and ensure that government programmes and achievements were effectively communicated to communities across the local government.
He assured the people of Rimi of his administration’s continued commitment to development initiatives capable of improving livelihoods, strengthening communities and expanding opportunities for citizens.
The Governor also acknowledged the contributions of lawmakers representing the constituency, noting that their support for development within their constituencies remained important to the overall progress of the state.
Governor Radda further commended Turaji for his loyalty, integrity and commitment, saying his years of working with him had consistently demonstrated his reliability and trustworthiness.
“I have worked with Turaji for a long time, and I have never caught him betraying the trust placed in him. I commend him for his loyalty and truthfulness,” he said.
Earlier, the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, expressed gratitude to Allah for the opportunity to have Governor Radda personally inaugurate the empowerment initiative in Rimi.
Turaji commended Governor Radda for creating an inclusive environment that enables political stakeholders, public officials and community leaders to contribute meaningfully to development across Katsina State.
He said the initiative was inspired by the Governor’s commitment to empowering people and strengthening grassroots structures across the state.
“We are emulating what you have been doing through your various empowerment initiatives across the state. Our objective is to strengthen the party and upgrade our grassroots structures,” Turaji said.
He explained that the provision of 10 vehicles and 10 motorcycles was designed to facilitate grassroots mobilisation and enable ward and local government coordinators to operate more effectively.

Turaji said the initiative would also complement efforts to support young people through opportunities in education, skills acquisition and other areas of community development.
He expressed appreciation to the people and stakeholders of Rimi for their cooperation and continued participation in community meetings and grassroots engagements.
Turaji assured Governor Radda that the people of Rimi remained firmly committed to supporting his administration and its development agenda, saying the local government would continue to play an active role in APC initiatives and grassroots mobilisation.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the APC in Katsina State, Dr Bashir Gambo Saulawa, said the State Executive Committee was in Rimi to witness what he described as a significant grassroots empowerment initiative.
He said the vehicles and motorcycles would strengthen the party’s mobilisation structure and improve engagement with communities across the local government.
Saulawa assured the gathering of the party’s readiness to mobilise its supporters and work towards securing its mandate in forthcoming elections.
He highlighted interventions by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Radda in agriculture, education, healthcare, water resources, youth empowerment and teacher recruitment, urging party stakeholders to communicate the achievements directly to citizens.
On his part, the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, said the people of Rimi were direct witnesses to the development taking place under Governor Radda’s administration.
He commended Turaji for his commitment to the development of his community and urged the people of Rimi to sustain their support for the APC while strengthening mobilisation at all levels.
Similarly, the Chairman of Rimi Local Government Stakeholders, Hon. Salisu Mamman Kadandani, described Rimi as an important political and community constituency with a longstanding relationship with Governor Radda.
He recalled the historical connection between Rimi and the Governor, noting that the area played an important role in his early political journey before the creation of Charanchi Local Government.
Kadandani commended Turaji for the initiative, describing the provision of 10 vehicles and 10 motorcycles as a practical contribution to strengthening grassroots mobilisation.
He also commended Governor Radda for the Zobe Dam water project and appealed for the timely implementation of its subsequent phase.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Rimi Local Government, Muhammadu Ali, said the people of the area remained fully committed to Governor Radda’s administration.
“We are totally behind your leadership because we have seen the initiatives and programmes being implemented by your administration,” he said.
He assured the Governor of continued support for policies and programmes aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people.
Similarly, the PBAT Coordinator in Rimi Local Government, Alhaji Bilyaminu Rimi, expressed appreciation to Governor Radda and said the people were following the administration’s development interventions, particularly the Zobe Dam water project.
He assured the Governor of the continued loyalty and support of the people of Rimi to the APC and pledged their mobilisation for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Bilyaminu said the local government remained committed to mobilising residents around the Renewed Hope initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the development agenda of Governor Radda.
The event was attended by members of the Katsina State Executive Council, APC leaders, government officials, local government stakeholders, ward coordinators, community leaders and other supporters from Rimi Local Government Area.
