This was contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli Director-General ( Press Affairs) Government House Gombe issued to newsmen.

It said the recognition is contained in the third-quarter 2026 Subnational Status Ranking released by the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Nigeria, which placed Gombe among states recording notable progress in the implementation of open government principles.

The assessment measures key indicators, including the presence of a State Action Plan (SAP), multi-stakeholder forums, a functional secretariat, online platforms and evidence of high-level political commitment.

The latest recognition comes against the backdrop of the administration’s sustained efforts to strengthen governance institutions, deepen stakeholder engagement and promote transparency in the implementation of government policies and programmes.
