A statement by the Command’s Public Relations SP Bashir Usman said the blockade obstructed motorists, persons requiring emergency medical attention, and other members of the public from moving freely and conducting their lawful activities.
It’s said the Command considers such conduct unacceptable, as it contravenes traffic regulations and creates opportunities for criminal activities.
The Command urged aggrieved persons to channel their grievances through lawful means, including their elected representatives, traditional rulers, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), rather than resorting to the unlawful obstruction of public highways.
The statement warned that any recurrence will attract appropriate legal action, with organisers and participants liable to investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.
The State Commissioner of Police, Umar M. Hadejia, appealed to members of the public to act responsibly, respect the rights of fellow citizens, and refrain from any conduct that disrupts the free movement of persons and goods.
