The Federal Government will set aside Thirty-Five Billion Naira for the construction of Zaria Airport within the premises of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, stated this during the groundbreaking ceremony of roads construction in Zaria.
Dr. Abbas Tajudeen explained that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration is committed to establishing Zaria Airport to reduce the pressure on Abuja and Kaduna airports.
He said the airport, if completed, would ease air transportation in the northern part of the country.
Speaking on the road projects to be constructed in Zaria Local Government Area, he said about fifty-one road networks have been designed. Some have been completed, while others will commence soon.
Dr. Abbas Tajudeen charged communities and elders to imbibe the culture of protecting any developmental projects executed in their areas.
He called on the people to report any shoddy projects to the appropriate authorities to ensure quality work.
