The ABUTH Chapter of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) officially inaugurated its newly elected executive council and held a send-off ceremony for Medical Lab interns for 2025/2026.
In his remarks the Chief Medical Director Prof Ahmed Hamidu Umdagas ably represented by Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, congratulated the new executives and outgoing interns. He reaffirmed Management’s commitment to supporting the laboratory services and emphasized the central role of medical laboratory departments in accurate diagnosis and patient care. He urged the interns to uphold ABUTH’s values and serve as worthy ambassadors wherever they go.
The newly elected Chairman ABUTH AMLSN, Adesokan Kabir Adewale, expressed gratitude to members for the trust placed in him. He pledged to work collaboratively with Management and members to advance the welfare of medical laboratory scientists and improve service delivery at ABUTH. He also called for constructive feedback and unity within the association.
A statement signed by Haruna Ibrahim head information and public relations of the hospital said the Association presented awards of excellence to Top Management,Outgoing executives, distinguished staff for outstanding service, Best Performing Interns for the year 2025/2026.
In his vote of thanks, the Association Secretary, Abduljalili Abdul, appreciated the presence of Management staff and the support they received from Management, heads of Department, and all guests.
The ceremony was graced by the representative of the Director of Administration, Asst. Director (HR), Alhaji Nasiru Yero, Heads of the laboratory department, senior Consultants, Pharmacist, Nurses, other key stakeholders in the Medical Laboratory Unit and ABUTH Heads of unions and associations.
The event underscores ABUTH’s commitment to professional development, staff recognition, and strengthening inter-professional collaboration within the hospital. It also marks a smooth transition in leadership for AMLSN ABUTH Chapter as it moves into the 2026/2027 administrative year.
