In a renewed efforts to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee [CMAC], Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Zaria, alongside the Director of Administration, Barr. Buhari Zailani, received Arc. Hadiza Abdulazeez Badamasi, Chief Executive Officer of Community Actions for Sustainable and Resilient Habitats Initiative [CASH-R Initiative] and her team at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria.
A statement signed Haruna Ibrahim head information and public relations of the hospital said the purpose of the visit was to plant trees within the Hospital premises to fight climate change, reduce air toxins, and prevent flooding and erosion within ABUTH.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee CMAC, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Zaria, thanked the CEO for the kind gesture and for considering ABUTH as one of the beneficiaries of the tree planting initiative, noting that a healthy environment is critical to patient recovery and staff well-being.
Also speaking, the Director of Administration, Barr. Buhari Zailani, appreciated Arc. Hadiza and her team for the initiative.
He assured that the Hospital would nurture the trees to maturity, and called on the Head of General Administration, Security, and other relevant departments responsible for the hospital’s green areas to ensure proper growth and maintenance of the trees.
The exercise is part of the Green Kaduna 2026 Tree Planting Campaign aimed at greening public institutions across Kaduna State.
