The Adamawa state Governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP),Pharm. Wafarininyi Theman has unveiled his seventeen (17) points agenda to demonstrate in moving the state forward if elected as governor in 2027 elections.
Theman who tagged his campaign slogan as “Adamawa Reset project” said that his manifesto is evidence-based in which his administration will be one to work along with contributions or inputs from the people themselves so that the desired goal can be achieved together.
Speaking at a press parley with the members of the Correspondents’ chapel in Yola, the Adamawa state capital over the weekend, Theman explained that his administration shall prioritize security under the aupieces “we the people program and the state trust fund before touching education and health sectors with the code “No child should be left out of school ” no matter what it takes.
He decried that based on report at his disposal,over 58,000 school children or pupils are currently undertaking classes under the trees despite huge amount of money being channeled in to the sectors describing it as “Unacceptable and must change for the better”.
In Agricultural and rural development sectors.Theman pledged to establish a new Ministry of food production and to ensure full scale mechanized farming activities where the state will be turn in to a food processing hub for the North East zone.
He stressed that if given the mandate by the electorate, his administration will also ensure poverty eradication and housing reliance through workable policies that can change the current sorry situation elaborating that a macro finance outlet to be called “Gongola Regional Development Bank” will be floated in that regard.
Another area of interest to him is Youth skills, technology and women economy development, empowerment and Inclusion noting that 65% of the state’s population are young stars which needs most attention in grooming them well being the future leaders for the state and country at large.
The governorship hopeful assured that under his watch, there would be revenue and public accountability and it will focus on tourism, culture and sports with a view to develop the state through people oriented programs which if properly harness will certainly take the state high level.
Theman opined that the state has what it takes to be great through the abundant human and natural resources available in the state, only need political will from the executive and support from all and sundry.
Our Correspondent reports that pharm. Wafarininyi Theman was a former state legislator who represented Hong constituency in the state House of Assembly and was a former state secretary of the ruling All progressives Congress APC before defecting to SDP and now moved over to YPP clinched it gubernatorial ticket for the 2027 polls.
