A visit to Independent National Electoral Commission, Adamawa state office by this reporter yesterday Sunday saw the names of Hamman Tukur Modibbo Ribadu and Rev. Iliya Kevin Aguwa as the Governorship and Deputy Gov’ship candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 Adamawa State Governorship Election.
Speaking on behalf of the supporters of the Omarana gov’ship candidacy, Abdul aziz Goje explained that they gathered at the party state Secretariat to register their displeasure with the undemocratic development that happened at the INEC headquarters for changing the name of Amb.Omar Suleiman with one, Modibbo Hamman Tukur Ribadu to fly the ADC gov’ship flag in the 2027 elections.
Goje said that they have written a formal letter of complaint to the National headquarters of the party and INEC with a view to respect the popular choice of Adamawa ADC members who was voted for through electoral process enshrined in the party’s constitution wondering how could someone who came second become the gov’ship candidate of ADC in the state.
“We are calling on the leadership and our respected stakeholders in the party to give us whom we unanimously choosed as our flag bearer in the forthcoming 2027 polls because any thing short of our demand can create problems for the party”.Goje maintained.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, the factional state chairman of the ADC party, Hon Sai’du Naira pacified the protesters assuring them that the letter would be delivered to the right quarters with a view to achieve their desired goal of ensuring internal democracy prevails.
Naira being flanked by some officials of the party pledged that in the next few days, the supporters would be mobilize back for the response of their letter from the party’s headquarters where collective decisions can be taken in the interest of all and sundry.

Meanwhile, the Adamawa state working committee and expanded executive committee of the African Democratic Congress ADC have impeached Hon. Dahiru stressed that the committee after its findings recommended that embattled ADC chairman Dasin should be removed with immediate effect and that the issue relating to alleged financial impropriety should be channeled to an independent and professional investigation organization.
“The State working committee and expanded executive committee of the party sat and deliberated on the recommendations of the investigation committee and resolved that Hon.Sadiq Dasin is here by removed as the caretaker chairman of ADC Adamawa state chapter permanently.

When contacted on his response on the development,Hon.Sadiq Dasin through a phone interview said he will soon speak to the media hopefully within this week asking rhetorically that how can someone with with twelve (12) state working committee members on his side be sanctioned by only four (4) others out of sixteen (16) state working committee members?.
Recalled that, the North East Executive Committee of party through a letter issued and signed by the North East Zonal National Vice Chairman of the party,Hon.Daniel Bwala addressed to Barrister Sadiq Dasin dated 24th August 2026 has quashed the purported suspension slammed on him by state working committee loyal to Naira’s faction.
In the said letter sighted by this reporter, the zonal committee confirmed that after careful review of the suspension of Dasi n,it found out that due process wasn’t followed which negates provisions of the party’s constitution therefore stood null and void and of no effect whatsoever directing him to invoke sanctions against the petitioners in accordance with Article 46 and 47of the party’s constitution.
