Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, says his administration is prioritising agriculture as the foundation of the state’s economy and rural development.
The governor said the government was providing farmers with modern farming machinery, quality fertilizers, improved seeds and practical support to increase productivity.
In a statement, he described agriculture as the heritage and lifeline of Sokoto people, and said the interventions were aimed at restoring hope to families, reviving rural communities and strengthening food security.
Aliyu said the policies were designed to transform challenges in the sector into opportunities, and to ensure that farmers benefit directly from government programmes.
He added that the administration was investing in the sector to build a future of abundance, economic prosperity and shared progress for residents of the state.
The governor said the strength of the state was rooted in the strength of its farmers, and reaffirmed his commitment to policies that would leave no hardworking farmer behind.
He said the goal was to make Sokoto a land of abundance and a model of people-centered leadership through sustained investment in agriculture.
