Reports emerging from the Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) allege that results for the party’s forthcoming gubernatorial primary election, scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026, have already been written in disregard of the party’s official timetable.

According to the reports, the alleged pre-written results cover all 147 electoral wards and the 13 local government areas in the state, including what is described as the final coalition at the state level. Sources familiar with the development claim that the exercise was concluded ahead of the scheduled primary, raising concerns about the blatant disregard for the APC headquarters’ schedule of activities by the Nasarawa chapter.

The alleged pre-written results have begun to generate tension within party ranks and among stakeholders in the state, with some members expressing fears that the outcome of the primary may have been predetermined.

Legal observers have warned that, if confirmed, such actions would amount to a blatant violation of the Electoral Act, the APC’s internal guidelines governing primary elections, and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They note that party primaries are expected to follow due process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and equal participation of all cleared aspirants.

Political analysts have also called on the APC National Headquarters to intervene swiftly to safeguard the credibility of its processes. They stress that failure to address the allegations promptly could undermine confidence in the party’s internal democracy, particularly as it prepares for the crucial governorship primary.

Efforts to obtain an official response from the Nasarawa APC leadership were unsuccessful as of press time. However, observers insist that a timely clarification from the party would be critical in dispelling doubts and maintaining trust among party members and the general public.
