A prominent businessman and politician, Alhaji Abdulshaed Bappah, has formally withdrawn from the race for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared total support for the party’s consensus candidate, Hon. Sadam Bello.
A statement signed by DG press affairs Gombe State government house Ismailia Uba Misilli said Bappah, who had earlier obtained the APC nomination forms to contest for the seat, announced his decision during a meeting with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, at the Government House, Gombe, earlier today.
He was accompanied by the consensus candidate, Hon. Sadam Bello.
Hon. Bappah pledged loyalty and support to Governor Inuwa Yahaya as the leader of the APC in Gombe State and endorsed all the consensus arrangements reached under the governor’s guidance.
He assured the governor and party leadership of his readiness to work wholeheartedly for the success of all APC candidates at every level in the forthcoming elections.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the decision by Hon. Bappa as a bold demonstration of political maturity and commitment to the unity and progress of the APC, assuring him that his contributions and loyalty to the party would continue to be appreciated and recognized.
