The Chairman Zaria local government ENGR Jamil Mohammad jaga has described the Speaker of the Federal house of representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas as a warrior of youths empowerment and development.
He stated this while speaking at the venue of the youths empowerment and skills acquisition in Zaria in which he said the event was a fulfilling one dedicated to youth empowerment and community service.
He said the programme facilitated by the Speaker Dr Tajudeen Abbas was aimed at further empowering youths to become self reliant and beneficial to the society.
He therefore urged the beneficiaries of the programme to make best use of the opportunity provided to be useful members of the society for their development.
Engr Jamil Jaga observed that the 10-day (60 contact hours) rigorous and intensive training program, held from 13th to 24th July 2026 and delivered by Eldov Transnational Ltd, was aimed at training and empowering the 350 participants drawn from the 13 wards of Zaria Local Government in
– Project Management,
– Solar Power Maintenance,
– Solar Power Installation,
– Welding and Fabrication,
– Bags making and Fashion Skills,
– Youth Empowerment and self reliance, and
– Rigging & Scaffolding.
The participants were trained by accredited instructors from Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Throughout the 10 days training, each participant received daily lunch and ₦5,000 transportation allowance. Upon completion today, every beneficiary received a starter pack or work equipment relevant to their acquired skills, including brand-new sewing machines, tablets, mobile phones, solar installation kits, welding equipment, scaffolding materials, and other essential tools.
They also received additional ₦250,000 business start-up grant to support their journey towards self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
In addition, the graduates were awarded two certificates: a Certificate of Attendance from Eldov Transnational Ltd and a Certificate of Proficiency from Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria.
The local government Chairman also encouraged all the beneficiaries to attach themselves to the ongoing massive infrastructural development projects in Zaria that are relevant to their areas of training, such as solar installation and maintenance, scaffolding, welding, project management, and other technical fields. Practical experience is the key to building successful careers, and I urge them to seize every opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of our community.
He also used the opportunity to once again sincerely thanked the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for bringing this life-changing initiative to Zaria.
According to him, this investment in our youths is an investment in the future of our local government.
Similarly later in the day, after observing the Juma’at prayer at Ni’ima Juma’at Mosque, I had the honour of serving as the Wali to Nusaiba, daughter of our State APC Legal Adviser, Barr A A Lawal, as she was joined in marriage to her beloved husband, Abubakar.
He prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to bless the union with love, peace, barakah, righteous offspring, and a lifetime of happiness. Ameeeeeen.
After the days engagement, Eng Jamil Jaga ended up the day at the office engaging with different associations and support groups in courtesy visit.
