Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, served as the Chief Host at the flag-off of the “Renewed Hope” Renewable Energy Solution Project across Zaria Federal Constituency, held at the Kongo Conference Hall, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
A statement signed Ishaq Galadima Chief Press Secretary to the chairman said the landmark intervention, facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Iyan Zazzau, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen GCON, is designed to provide sustainable solar power to hospitals, schools, primary healthcare centres, security facilities, worship centres, businesses and homes across the 13 wards of the constituency.
The project will deliver over 10,000KVA of solar power capacity, including solar systems for all 55 Primary Healthcare Centres, while 455 mosques and churches are also captured under the intervention.
As Chief Host, Engr. Jaga witnessed the commissioning of the 110KVA solar mini-grid at the ABU Kongo Campus Administration Block, as well as the groundbreaking ceremonies for the ZEDA International Conference Hall and a Modern Skills Acquisition Centre and Office Accommodation for the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Zaria.
The Chairman also highlighted the employment opportunities created through the project, noting that 50 of the 100 Zaria youths previously trained in solar installation and maintenance have secured permanent employment with one of the companies executing the solarisation project.
Engr. Jaga commended the initiative as a significant investment in education, healthcare, skills development, employment and the socioeconomic wellbeing of the people of Zaria.
He appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Governor Uba Sani CON and Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen GCON for their continued support and commitment to development across Zaria Federal Constituency.
