Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has been declared the unopposed governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.

A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim, chief press secretary to the Governor said the declaration was made by the chairman of the APC electoral committee and returning officer, Alh. Danlami Abubakar, at the party’s state secretariat in Minna.

The motion to adopt the farmer Governor as an unopposed candidate was moved by the senator representing Niger East, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa, and seconded by the deputy speaker of the state house of assembly, Mrs. Afiniki Dauda.

The farmer governor appreciated APC members in the state for adopting him as the unopposed candidate of the party, saying it is a demonstration of love and the bond that exists between him and the people.
