    ARREST OF SUSPECTS IN CONNECTION WITH CULPABLE HOMICIDE IN ZAMFARA,

    The Zamfara State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of a tragic incident and subsequent breakthrough recorded by the Command.

    A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said on 17th April, 2026 at about 1530hrs, information was received from the Officer-in-Charge (OC) Outstation, Hayin Dan Hausa, that some unknown hoodlums riding motorcycles and armed with cutlasses attacked one Buhari Ibrahim ‘M’ of Gadar Baga area, Gusau. The assailants inflicted serious injuries on the victim in front of Shobanke Hotel, Hayin Dan Hausa.

    Upon receipt of the report, police operatives attached to the Central Police Station promptly visited the scene and evacuated the victim to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, the victim later died while receiving treatment.

    A comprehensive investigation was immediately launched by the Division, which led to a significant breakthrough. On 21st April, 2026 at about 1200hrs, the following suspects were arrested in connection with the crime:

    1. Abdulrazak Mohammed ‘M’

    2. Mohammed Mohammed ‘M’

    3. Aisha Yahaya ‘F’

    4. Rabiatu Mohammed ‘F’

    5. Rukayya Mohammed ‘F’

    6. Rabiatu Mohammed ‘F’

    7. Nusaiba Abba ‘F’

    8. Ladi Sidi ‘F’

    Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the following suspects who are currently at large:

    1. Abuhuraira Yahaya ‘M’

    2. Daha Dan Barno ‘M’

    3. Abba Kwana ‘M’

    4. Hamoisu Salisu ‘M’

    5. Basiru Dan’nana ‘M’

    The arrested suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and further necessary action.

    The Command assures the public that it remains committed to ensuring justice is served and urges members of the public to continue to support the Police with timely and credible information.

    Further developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
