Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency Headquarters Registration Center Joints Kaduna North LGA to Conduct Hajj Practicals as Bita Programme Enters Week 14th
The Headquarters Registration Center of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, in collaboration with the Kaduna North Local Government Hajj Registration Center, has successfully conducted a comprehensive Hajj practical exercise, popularly known as Bita, as the statewide public enlightenment programme enters its 14th week.
A statement signed by the board public relations officer Ibrahim Datti Makarfi said the exercise, which took place at Sardauna Memorial College (SMC), Kaduna, witnessed active participation from a large number of intending pilgrims who gathered to deepen their understanding of the Hajj rites through practical demonstrations and guided instructions.
The Bita programme, a key initiative of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, continues to record remarkable progress across the state. It is being conducted every Saturday and Sunday in all 23 Local Government Hajj registration centers, including the Agency’s headquarters.
The programme remains a vital component of the Agency’s broader strategy aimed at adequately preparing intending pilgrims spiritually, physically, and logistically for the 2026 Hajj exercise in the holy Land.
During the practical session, participants were taken through detailed demonstrations of essential Hajj rites. These included the proper wearing of the Ihram, the performance of Tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka’abah), Sa’i (the walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah), and the symbolic stoning of the Jamarat. The hands-on approach adopted during the exercise is designed to give pilgrims a clear, step-by-step understanding of the pilgrimage processes, thereby minimizing errors and boosting their confidence ahead of the actual Hajj.
Speaking at the event, the Director of Public Enlightenment, Malam Abubakar Alhassan, underscored the significance of the Bita programme in preparing pilgrims for one of the most important spiritual obligations in Islam.
He explained that the initiative is carefully structured to educate participants on all aspects of the pilgrimage, including religious rites, health and safety measures, and the expected conduct while in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He urged intending pilgrims to take the programme seriously by attending all sessions consistently, engaging actively, and adhering strictly to the guidelines provided by officials.
He noted that full participation in the Bita exercise would significantly enhance the pilgrims’ experience and help prevent common mistakes during Hajj.
Also present at the exercise was the Director of Administration and Finance, Hajiya Halima Aliyu Babale, alongside Malama Rakiya S. Ladan, a Staff Officer of the Agency. They both contributed to the practical sessions by offering guidance and support to participants.
In her remarks, Hajiya Halima emphasized the importance of discipline, patience, and cooperation among pilgrims, stressing that these qualities are essential for a successful and spiritually fulfilling Hajj.
Participants from both the Headquarters and Kaduna North registration centers expressed their appreciation to the Kaduna State Government and the Pilgrims Welfare Agency for organizing the programme. Many described the exercise as highly enlightening and impactful, noting that it has greatly improved their knowledge of Hajj rites and strengthened their preparedness for the journey.
The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all intending pilgrims from the state are well-prepared and properly guided throughout the Hajj process. The Agency further assured that the Bita programme will continue across all centres until every registered pilgrim is fully equipped with the necessary knowledge and practical experience.
As the programme advances into subsequent weeks, stakeholders remain optimistic that the initiative will continue to yield positive results and further establish Kaduna State as a model for effective Hajj preparation in Nigeria.
