The DG Press affairs Gombe State government house,Ismaila Uba Misilli has expressed his appreciation and sincere gratitude to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Gombe State Council, ably led by Comrade Farouk Muazu ( Wakilin Sadarwa) for conferring on me the Excellence in Public Communication Award.
A statement signed by the DG said the Award was presented to him yesterday, alongside other professional colleagues and friends of the media, during the NUJ Dinner and Awards Night, Chaired by the Gombe State Head of Civil Service, Professor Muazu Shehu, and attended by the National President of the NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi.
It said this recognition means a great deal to me, not only as a personal milestone but as a proof of collective efforts of many dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to ensure effective and responsible communication in our state.
He particularly appreciate the strong, constructive and mutually beneficial relationship that exists between the media and the administration of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON. The steadfast support, cooperation and professionalism demonstrated by journalists in Gombe State have been invaluable. Your commitment to informing the public and telling the Gombe story with balance and integrity continues to play a vital role in our progress.
While accepting this award with humility and a deep sense of responsibility,the DG dedicated it first to his principal, His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, whose visionary leadership and commitment to openness and good governance have created the enabling environment for us to serve effectively.
Hev also dedicated this honour to my colleagues in the Directorate of Press Affairs, whose support, loyalty and hard work form the backbone of our achievements.
Finally, he share this recognition with the entire community of journalists in Gombe State whose courage and commitment to truth and public service make moments like this truly meaningful.
He maintained that “As we celebrate this honour, I wish to re-commit to strengthening our collaboration, upholding the highest standards of professionalism, and contributing to the continued development of our dear state”.
