The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General W Shaibu NAM, earlier today graduated troops of Exercise FAST BOLT IV Double Stream from the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC) Kontagora.
In his address, the COAS who was ably represented by the Commander Corps of Artillery, Major General JO Adeyemo highlighted that the trainees were graduating at a defining moment of our country, Nigeria, that requires disciplined, professional and dutiful combatants to enhance operational capability of the Nigerian Army towards boosting conditions for inclusive national development.
A statement signed by Major Godfrey Anebi Abakpa said the COAS, therefore, emphasised the importance of being professional in the discharge of the constitutional responsibilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and dutiful to protect the civilians in the joint and multi-agency environments.
To this end, the graduated trainees of 2 battalions were motivated to be loyal to the nation, priotise mission and the people, promote jointness, enshew continuous training, and boost military accountability in any circumstances Appreciating the successful conduct of the training activity as scheduled, the COAS thanked the Presudent and Commander in Chief for unwavering support to the Nigerian Army.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the Commander, staff, and the instructors of the Centre for the improved military competency and professionalism achieved through the graduated trainees. Finally, the COAS congratulated the graduands on behalf of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander- in -Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Earlier in his earlier remarks of the Chief of Training (Army) who was ably represented by the Deputy Chief of Training, Major General SD Makolo, commended the Nigerian Army Training Centre for the continued performance of the critical role of developing elite fighting forces for the Nigerian Army, effectively. Evaluating the training, he enlightened the graduated trainees that they are now part of a critical component of the Nigeria Army’s rapid response capability.
The Commander NATRAC, Major General AGL Haruna, in his Opening Address , presented the training milestones accomplished by graduates to be a dependable force in any operational environment.
Highlights of the event included demonstration of some tactical level activities, live fire, and novelty shooting. Other customary activities, such as the presentation of certificates to trainees, awards to outstanding soldiers of the Centre, and gifting of souvenirs to special guests, were also observed. The event ended with a group photograph.
