The Adamawa State College of Nursing Sciences Yola has matriculated a total of 233 students to pursue various nursing education under 2025/2026 academic session .
Provost of the College, Mrs Salome Tarfa while delivering his welcome address said that the second matriculation ceremony marked a significant milestone in the lives of the newly admitted students and a proud moment for the institution.
Mrs Tarfa noted that matriculation is not merely a ceremonial event but a formal initiation into the Academic community which signifies acceptance by students to obey rules, values and responsibilities that guide the noble profession.
“By taking the matriculation oath , you are committing yourselves to discipline,integrity, compassion and lifelong learning-qualities that define the Nursing profession.
“This year,we are proud to matriculate a total number of 233 students into our nursing program.These numbers reflect both the growing interest in nursing as a career and the trust that families and communities place in this institution.We do not take these responsibilities lightly.
“Our role extends beyond academic instruction;we aim to shape character, instill professional ethics and prepare our students to serve humanity with dedication and empathy.Our National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) nursing programmes are structured to provide a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience”.Tarfa pointed out.
The provost charged the students to be very serious about their studies noting that Nursing is a profession that demands the highest level of responsibility and ethical conduct.
“You must be punctual, respectful, hardworking and committed to your studies.Indisciple in any form will not be tolerated as it undermines both your personal growth and the integrity of the profession you aspire to join.”She cautioned.
She also called on the government to assist in addressing some of the major challenges facing the institution including; the need for improved infrastructures, expanded clinical facilities and increased funding to support growing student population among others
Earlier in his remarks, the chairman of the college Governing council, Mr.Benso n Kongyiburi admonished the students to be law abiding in their undertakings in the institution warning that the governing council shall not entertain frivolous petitions from students.
Kongyiburi expressed gratitude to the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration for always being there for the college.
Numerous good will messages from the friends and partners of the institution were read during the matriculation ceremony with supportive encouragement and solidarity.
