The Commander 31 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Kabir Rabiu, has continued his operational familiarisation visits to units and troops within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility with a visit to Shiroro Hydroelectric Power Station and Forward Operating Base (FOB) Kaffin Koro on 13 August 2026.
This was contained in a statement signed by Captain Muhammad Shehu,Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations31 Artillery Brigade issued to newsmen.
During the visit, the Commander inspected troops deployed to safeguard the critical national asset at Shiroro and personnel at FOB Kaffin Koro. He commended their commitments and sacrifices and charged them to remain professional, disciplined and vigilant in the discharge of their duties.
Brigadier General Rabiu further cautioned the troops against the wrongful use of social media and urged them to use mobile phones responsibly while on duty. He stressed that unnecessary use of phones could distract personnel and compromise operational alertness. He also warned against drug abuse, betting and gambling, noting that such practices could adversely affect the health, discipline and operational effectiveness of personnel.
The Commander also held an interactive session with the management of Shiroro Hydroelectric Power Station. The Chief Operating Officer, Engineer Suleiman Wudil Abubakar, commended the sacrifices, commitments and professionalism of the troops deployed to protect the facility. He appreciated the Commander’s visit and reaffirmed the management’s readiness to collaborate and support the troops to effectively discharge their duties.
Brigadier General Rabiu appreciated the management for the warm reception and support accorded the troops. He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitments to protecting critical national infrastructure and strengthening collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
The visit climaxed with a guided tour of the facility, signing of visitors book and group photographs.
