    The Executive Council of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State, at its emergency meeting held on 2nd May 2026, reviewed the unauthorized protest staged last week at the premises of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kaduna, by a few individuals regarding an alleged ₦30 billion contract with Formal Act Legacy Limited, Kaduna

    A statement signed by Ahmed Baba chairman contractors association of Kaduna State said the Association hereby states as follows:

    *Exoneration*: The Association was not part of, did not authorize, and dissociates itself completely from the said protest at the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. The actions of those individuals do not represent the official position of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State.

    *Due Process*: The Association is the sole umbrella body for all contractors — indigenous, non-indigenous, and foreign — operating in Kaduna State. Pursuant to Article [Insert Article No.] of our Constitution, decisions on collective action must be deliberated and approved at a duly convened general or emergency meeting. No such meeting was held, and no resolution was passed authorizing the protest.

    *Breach & Sanctions*: The conduct of the members who participated in the unauthorized protest at the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs constitutes a breach of Article [Insert Article No.] _Code of Conduct_ and Article [Insert Article No.] _Disciplinary Procedures of the Constitution of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State.

    The statement said consequently, and in exercise of powers conferred by Article [Insert Article No.], the following constitutional sanctions are hereby imposed on all identified participants:

    – *Suspension* from all Association activities and privileges for a period of [6 months], effective immediately;

    – *Withdrawal of recommendation/good standing letters* during the suspension period;

    – *Barred from holding elective or appointive office* in the Association for [2 years];

    – *Mandatory written undertaking* to abide by the Constitution before readmission.

    *Warning*: Members are reminded that any further act of insubordination, misrepresentation of the Association, or breach of due process shall attract stiffer sanctions, including expulsion, as provided in Article [Insert Article No.].

    The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kaduna, the general public, Formal Act Legacy Limited, relevant government agencies, and security organizations are hereby notified that the Contractors Association of Kaduna State had no involvement in the protest and condemns the illegal actions of the sanctioned individuals.

    The statement therefore said it remains committed to professionalism, transparency, and lawful engagement in all contractual matters.
