In preparation for a peaceful and secure Eidul-Kabir celebration across Zamfara State, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, PSC+, MNIPS, convened a stakeholders’ meeting at the Command Headquarters in Gusau.
This is contained in a statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar issued to newsmen.
It said the meeting brought together Imams, community leaders, parents, and other key stakeholders to discuss issues concerning public safety before,during and after the festive period, particularly the carrying of offensive weapons by some youths in the name of celebration.
CP Bello emphasized that such acts will no longer be tolerated, urging religious and community leaders, as well as parents, to guide their youths against carrying weapons.
He warned that anyone found in possession of offensive weapons will be arrested, and parents who abet or shield their children from the law will be dealt with in accordance with legal provisions.
All Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers have been instructed to enforce these directives strictly, ensuring the safety of all residents before,during and after the festive period.
The Commissioner of Police extended his warm wishes to all residents, urging peaceful celebrations.
The Command wishes the people of the state a Happy Eidul-Kabir in advance.
