As the celebration of National Police Day 2026 enters Day Three, the Zamfara State Police Command has continued its series of activities to commemorate the occasion.
The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, psc+, mnips, led officers and men of the Command to conduct a sensitisation lecture at the Central Motor Park in Gusau the State Capital.
A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said the sensitisation programme was attended by key stakeholders, including members of NURTW and their leadership, Union of Bike raiders,Union of Tricycle (KEKE NAPEP)youth groups, traditional leaders, religious leaders and drivers, among others.
During the occasion, the Commissioner of Police emphasised the importance of good physical and mental well-being, noting that a healthy population is vital for a safe, peaceful, and productive society. He encouraged drivers, park operators, and passengers to prioritise their health, strictly adhere to road safety regulations, and avoid reckless driving, drug abuse and misuse and other illegal practices capable of endangering lives, human dignity and destroying property.
CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello also sensitised the public on electoral offences, especially as the election approached. He urged citizens to shun all forms of electoral violence and resist being used by unpatriotic individuals who do not have the best interests of the State and country at heart. He further called on the public to remain law-abiding and avoid acts that could undermine a peaceful electoral process.
The visit featured an interactive session where drivers and members of the public raised concern and complaints relating to security, road safety, and police conduct. The Commissioner addressed issues raised with decorum, professionalism and empathy, assuring the public of the Command’s continued commitment to dedication, determination, transparency, probity and accountability. The CP added proactive policing remains his priority. He reaffirmed his readiness to work closely with all stakeholders.
“I am here to work with you and for you. Your concerns are valid, and we will continue to improve on our service delivery,” the CP stated.
