    The Department of Army Policy and Plans held a Sensitization/Awareness Workshop on Nigerian Army Policies for personnel of 2 Division Nigerian Army on 8 April 2026, at the Division’s Auditorium.

    In his welcome remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen Chinedu Nnebeife Commended the Team from DAPP for bringing the sensitization workshop to the Division, while noting that the programme was timely. He reiterated the importance of the DAPP especially in reinforcing the relevance of Nigerian Army policies to operational effectiveness and discipline.

    A statement signed by Captain Maureen Ogbuka for acting Deputy director army public relations HQ 2 division Nigerian army said the GOC further charged the participants to take the lectures very seriously and the knowledge acquired should be impacted to others in their various Units and Formations.

    Declaring the workshop open, the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army) Maj General BA Alabi, ably represented by the Director Policy, Brig Gen WO Ubi emphasized that the workshop has been carefully designed to deepen the collective understanding of troops on Nigerian Army Policies, intent and practical application in the field. He noted that the policies of the NA are not mere administrative documents but they present carefully considered directives, derived from national laws, constitutional provisions, and best military practices. He then expressed that the aim of the workshop is to Clarify the roles and responsibilities of commanders and troops in policy implementation and to encourage feedback from the field to inform future policy formulations and reviews to better improve Nigerian Army policies.

    Lectures delivered were on NA Administrative Policies and Procedures Revised, NA Engineering Building Construction Aide Memoire, Dress Regulations Booklet, NA Policy on Barracks Accommodation, NA Guidelines for conduct of Service Personnel Attached to Retired Officers during Elections, NA Protocol Handbook, NA Policy on Drugs and Substance Abuse, Battle Casualty Replacement of Personnel in the Nigerian A Operations, Policy on the Employment of Unmanned Aerial Systems in the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Army Policy on Energy Consumption,NA State of readiness pamphlet, Policy on Engagement/Re-engagement of Discharge/Retired Personnel for PSO among others.

    Highlights of the event were presentation of souvenirs, interactive session and a group Photograph.
