Dr. Jamil Gwamna, a Ph.D. holder himself, knows the importance of education in human life and also in transforming society. As someone passionate about education, he intends to sustain the good policies and programmes of this administration in the education sector while introducing new reforms to improve on the successes recorded so far.

At the basic level, Dr. Gwamna understands that there must first be a conducive environment before learning can take place. It is for this reason that his administration would focus on revitalising all schools needing government attention across the state. Added to this would be the provision of essential instructional and learning materials for both teachers and students or pupils.

Also, Dr. Gwamna wouldn’t neglect the aspect of teachers’ welfare, being critical to achieving his goal in the education sector. Teachers’ welfare would be improved, more teachers would be recruited and deployed to schools with existing gaping holes, and their capacity development would also not be neglected.

At the higher education level, funding of state-owned tertiary institutions would continue, partnership between the state government and the federal government would be strengthened to attract more support to the institutions, and a strict monitoring system would be implemented to ensure that quality education is what the students get.

As someone known for awarding personal scholarships at both local and international levels, the government platform would provide him the opportunity to send Gombe citizens to other countries on scholarships to study courses that would help our growth in critical sectors. Local scholarships too would be improved.
