The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), served as the chief host at the inauguration of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Support Group for the 87 wards across the eight local governments of Kaduna State Zone One, held at the old CPC office along Dan Magaji Road.
A statement signed by the SA New Media to the Chairman, Abdullahi Abubakar lawal said the event was led by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, and brought together prominent political leaders, party stakeholders, and founding members of the CPC from across the zone.
Among the distinguished personalities in attendance were Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, General Sani Saleh, Hon. Garba Datti Babawo, APC National Vice Chairman (North West), Alhaji Samaila Yakawada, Chairman of the North West Development Commission, Hon. Isa Haruna Baban Yaya, Member representing Zaria Kewaye Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, APC leaders, stakeholders, and veteran CPC members from across Zone One of Kaduna State. The gathering reaffirmed the enduring ideals of progressive politics and strengthened grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of future political engagements.
Thereafter, Engr. Jaga joined the Speaker, alongside the Governor of Niger State, Umar Bago; the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe; and the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, at the prestigious Access Bank–UNICEF Charity Shield Polo Tournament held at the Fifth Chukker Lawns, Kangimi Resort, Kaduna. Widely recognized as one of the world’s largest charity polo platforms, the annual event organized by Fifth Chukker and Access Bank raises critical funds for UNICEF programmes that support education and provide opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children across Nigeria.
Earlier in the day, the Chairman attended the Annual Sallah Programme organized by Kungiyar Matasa Masu Karfafa Gwiwar Dalibai Masu Taso Wa in Gangaren Tudun Wada, held at Baba Trader Jumu’at Mosque. During the event, he commended the organizers for their dedication to promoting education, youth development, and community engagement. As part of his support, he announced empowerment packages for outstanding participants, including a new deep freezer for the winner in the married women’s category, a sewing machine for the winner of the ladies’ category, and a bicycle for the winner of the boys’ category. He further donated the sum of ₦200,000 to support the activities of the organizing committee, demonstrating his continued commitment to grassroots empowerment and youth development initiatives.
The Chairman also attended the wedding Fatiha of Maryam Aminu, daughter of Alhaji Aminu Zakari Bagobiri, and her husband, Ahmad Aliyu, held at Khadija Iyande Mosque, Gangare, Tudun Wada, Zaria. He joined family members, friends, community leaders, and well-wishers in celebrating the joyous occasion and offered prayers for a peaceful, prosperous, and blessed marital life for the newlyweds.
