The Commissioner of Police, (CP) Yobe State Command, CP Usman Kamfani Jibrin, has paid a familiarization visit to 27 Task Force (TF) Brigade, Nigerian Army (NA), on Wednesday 19, August 2026, at the Brigade Headquarters Buni-Gari, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
A statement signed by Lieutenant Tasiu Abdullahi Abbas,Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations 27 Task Force Brigade Buni-Gari, Gujba LGA, Yobe State said the visit was part of his efforts to strengthen inter security agency cooperation and enhance security operations across the state as well as to foster stronger collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in the areas of information sharing, joint security operations and coordinated responses to emerging security threats.
Receiving the Commissioner, the Commander of 27 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Mukhtar Shehu Mukhtar, welcomed CP Usman Kamfani Jibrin to the Brigade and appreciated the visit, describing it as a significant step towards deepening the existing relationship between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
General Mukhtar emphasized the importance of sustained synergy among security agencies in the fight against terrorism, insurgency, banditry and other forms of criminality in the North East region. He noted that effective collaboration, timely sharing of credible information and coordinated operations remain essential to maintaining peace and security in Yobe State.
In his remarks, CP Usman Kamfani Jibrin, expressed appreciation to the Commander of 27 TF Brigade for the warm reception and renewing the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to working closely with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies. He stressed the need for continuous cooperation and professionalism in the discharge of their respective responsibilities.
He further emphasized the importance of maintaining effective communication and strengthening operational coordination to ensure the safety and protection of the people of Yobe State.
The visit ended with both parties reiterating their commitment to sustained inter-agency cooperation and a united approach towards combating security challenges and ensuring lasting peace and stability in Yobe State.
