Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering women.
A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim Chief press secretary to the Governor said the Farmer Governor stated this at the government house in Minna during a meeting with women stakeholders across all the local government areas in Zone B part of the state.
While recounting the significant role women have been playing in his political career, Farmer Governor Umaru Bago commended their resilience and loyalty.
According to him, “Women remain a formidable force in shaping electoral outcomes. I have been to the ballot 4 times, and women have been my strong support to victory.”
He urged them to sustain their support ahead of future elections, assuring them of more political opportunities in his administration.
Farmer Governor Bago called on the women to remain united and embrace peace and forgiveness for growth and development.
He also encouraged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation to secure victories for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
Earlier, the Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly and leader of the women’s group from Zone B, Mrs. Afiniki Eunice Dauda, commended the Farmer Governor for demonstrating confidence in women through the numerous strategic positions he placed women in his administration.
She said their visit was to reassure the Farmer Governor that the Zone B women are strongly behind him and will work diligently to ensure all APC candidates are victorious in the next general elections.
“Women are known for being straightforward and truthful. So we have come to tell the Governor that we are ready to mobilise and galvanise support for the BAGO administration and ensure success of APC candidates in 2027 general elections”, she said.
