The governor of Niger State, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has held discussions with the National President of the Nigeria Association of Road Transport Owners, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal Othman on key areas of mutual understanding.
A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said the farmer governor who received the NARTO President on a courtesy visit at the Government House Minna keenly deliberated on the condition of the Bida–Badeggi–Lambatta Road, awarded by Alhaji Aliko Dangote for construction.
Discussions were also held on the ongoing Maje–Tunga Junction Road project where the farmer governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing the conducive environment for contractors to carry out their work without hitches.
Farmer Umaru Bago commended the NARTO President for his relentless efforts in the transport sector and used the platform to re-echo the importance of investing in road infrastructure which his government has accorded top priority .
NARTO National President, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal Othman applauded the farmer governor for his unwavering commitment to road infrastructure and his several interventions through his new Niger agenda which has been transforming lives of the residents of the state.
He however appealed to the farmer governor to intervene and liaise with the Minister of Works Sen. David Umahi for urgent attention to the affected federal roads in NigerState.
