Niger State governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has inaugurated a digital learning and ICT Centre at Martin Sanda Girls Science College, Paiko which was facilitated by Justice Zaynab Bashir of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim Chief Press Secretary to the Governor made available to newsmen.
Farmer Umaru Bago who described the project initiated by Justice Zaynab, an indigene of Paiko as highly commendable said, she has embarked on a corporate social responsibility that has proven to be a challenge to many especially in regards to girl child education.
The farmer governor said, the initiative is a wake up call for others to contribute their own quota to the development of the State and the Nation at large adding that, it is a call for more to be done towards promoting girl child education.
Farmer Umaru Bago also inspected the newly renovated classroom blocks facilitated by Justice Zaynab Bashir.
He equally directed that the School be fenced and disclosed that his government will build a science laboratory and a sports complex as his administration remains resolute in promoting science education across the State.
Farmer Bago used the medium to call on the people of Paiko to encourage their children to study medicine and other health related courses so as to enable the government establish a General Hospital where indigenous people can be employed to offer health services.
He also disclosed that the Ward development project of his administration is still on course and that a new commissioner for rural development will soon be appointed to enable the disbursement of funds to continue the projects across all the 25 local government areas.
The project facilitator, Justice Zaynab Bashir in her remarks said, the farmer governor’s commitment to excellence led to the approval of the project she initiated in the school as his administration has consistently demonstrated that with the right support from government, individuals and organisations are inspired to make meaningful contributions to the society.
She described the farmer governor as a mentor and appreciated him for his support adding that the project is a reflection of the vision of his administration and was conceived with the believe that education remains one of the most important instrument for transforming lives.
The former Minister of State, Foreign affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada, the Chairman, Paikoro Local Government Council, Aminu Umar Yandai, member representing Paikoro Constituency at the State House of assembly, Umar Nasir in their separate remarks all appreciated the farmer governor for his remarkable strides in transforming Paikoro local government.
They also commended Justice Zaynab for the noble idea of giving back to the society with a call on others to emulate her.
