Niger State governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has described the death of a famous Bauchi State businessman, Alh. Ahmadu Laushi, as a monumental loss to the nation.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Bologi, Ibrahim said the farmer governor stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the Bauchi State governor, Bala Muhammad, at the Government House, Bauchi.
He described the late businessman as an elder statesman and a father figure not only to him but also to many.
The governor, who noted the impact made by the deceased on many lives, said his demise has created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill.
“On behalf of the government and people of Niger State, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Bauchi State government and the immediate and extended families of the deceased.
“The deceased was indeed a good man, and his absence will be greatly felt by many. I pray that Allah will reward his good deeds and grant his soul Aljannat firdausi,” he said.
He also prayed that Allah will comfort the family of the deceased, the government, and the people of Bauchi State.
He used the opportunity to appreciate the exceptional leadership the Bauchi state governor is providing to the people, saying they are inspiring.
The Bauchi State governor, Bala Muhammad, appreciated the farmer governor for the visit and continued show of love as well as support at all times.
He described the late Alh Laushi as an outstanding personality who has carved a niche for himself.
Bauchi state governor said numerous people across Northern Nigeria have been mentored in commerce and trade by the deceased.
He applauded the farmer governor for his developmental strides in Niger State, especially in the area of agricultural mechanization, where he has attracted global attention to the state.
He also noted other areas that the farmer governor is doing remarkably well in, such as infrastructure, health, mineral resources, and security.
Earlier, the farmer governor was at the family residence of the deceased in Bauchi, where he commiserated with the family members and offered prayers for the repose of the deceased.
