The immediate chairman of Katsina state Medical and Health worker’s Union Katsina branch, comrade Mannir Mohd Sulaiman has called on the state government to resume payments of retired workers gratuity in the local governments as promised.
Comrade Mannir Mohd Sulaiman disclosed that although the state governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD has broken the record of paying retired state and local government workers,that are not paid for several years,
The payment has ceased for some months as scheduled which is becoming worrisome to those who are not paid.
The ex chairman explained that it’s commendable that over 40b naira was set aside for the gratuities and death benefits payments,while over 70 % of the workers in both state and local governments have been paid.
He said there is the need for the state governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD to settle and clear the backlog of those that are yet to be paid as promised.
He said there is no doubt governor Dr Dikko Umar radda PhD has performed very well in the developmental projects of the state as well as the welfare of the workers,hence the need to reelect him for the second term.
Comrade Mannir Mohd Sulaiman explained that workers and pensioners have no reason to complain as salaries and pensions are promptly paid every month end.
The ex mhwun chairman who is also the chairman of Funtua unity foundation, expressed appreciation to the government for various developmental projects executed across the state in three years by the Gov Dikko Umar radda led administration, saying that one good term deserved another.
