The Forum of Retired Federal and State Permanent Secretaries and in Gombe State has formally declared its full support for the Gombe State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives cd Congress (APC), Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, citing his comprehensive and people-centered welfare agenda for civil servants and pensioners.
A statement signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai,Spokesperson to Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna said the endorsement was made during a high-level meeting of the Forum, where members unanimously agreed that Dr. Gwamna is the most credible and capable choice among all contenders.
The Forum emphasised that his policy direction reflects a deep understanding of the needs of both serving and retired civil servants, particularly in the areas of improved welfare, timely pensions, and sustainable reforms that guarantee dignity in retirement.
As part of its strategic engagement, the Forum established a Contact and Mobilization Committee tasked with traversing all emirate councils across the state to drive grassroots awareness and support for Dr. Gwamna.
“The committee has already visited seven emirate councils, where it has been actively engaging stakeholders, youth groups, mobilising support, and enlightening communities on the vision and leadership qualities of the APC candidate.”
In his remarks during a meeting with Dr. Gwamna, the forum chairman, Barrister Obel Yaji Mni reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring his victory at the polls.
According to him, the forum has already started the ongoing statewide consultations with a clear mission of galvanising support for Gwamna at the grassroot levels.
“Gwamna is the best candidate so far, with a clear roadmap for inclusive governance and improved welfare for both active and retired civil servants” he added.
Reacting to the endorsement, Dr Gwamna expressed profound appreciation to the forum for its confidence in his leadership and vision.
“I am deeply honoured by this endorsement from our respected retired federal and state Permanent Secretaries, whose wealth of experience and service to our state remains invaluable. Their support strengthens our resolve to build a Gombe where civil servants and pensioners are treated with dignity, fairness, and care,” Dr. Gwamna stated.
“I assure you that our administration will consolidate and expand upon the commendable reforms initiated by His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, particularly in enhancing the welfare of workers and retirees.”
Gwamna reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance and pledged to work closely with experienced stakeholders, including retired civil servants, to deliver people-oriented policies that will further strengthen Gombe State’s public service.
