Abuja, Former All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed as false social media posters alleging that he defected to the New Democratic Congress, NDC, and reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party.
In a statement issued by his former Commissioner for Information and Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje said he was not a “nomadic politician or a vulture flying from one tree to another” in pursuit of personal ambition.
He described the posters as mischievous and politically motivated, aimed at misleading the public, creating confusion among APC members, and generating needless speculation.
Ganduje said he had remained consistent in his political convictions and had never contemplated leaving the APC, which he served as National Chairman.
He added that claims of joining the NDC lacked political and logical foundation.
The former Kano State governor said the APC remained Nigeria’s largest political party and was consolidating its position under President Bola Tinubu.
He described the circulation of the posters as the work of “desperate political mischief makers” seeking to tarnish his reputation.
Ganduje said those responsible for producing and circulating the fake posters had been identified, and warned that legal action would be taken if the materials were not withdrawn and further dissemination stopped.
He urged APC members, supporters, and the public to disregard the posters, and said he remained committed to working with Tinubu and the APC leadership to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement also urged the public to rely only on official communications from Ganduje and the appropriate organs of the APC on matters relating to his political activities.
