The General Manager of Katsina State Radio Service has reiterated the station’s commitment towards disseminating accurate, efficient and well balanced information for public consumption.
Malam Lawal Attahiru Bakori stated this during a Media Discussion Session organized by “Building Your Future Ambassadors’ Initiative” held at the Multipurpose Conference Hall of Gwagware Foundation Katsina.
The session focused on the Role Media Organizations are playing in Girl Child Right, Moral Upbringing and Community Responsibility in the society”.
In his contributions, the General Manager said that the station was established to educate, enlighten and disseminate accurate information to members of the public.
According to him, the station is airing programmes that have a direct impact on the lives of women, girls and children, emphasizing their importance in building the future of the younger generation in society.
He urged women and children to take part in media discussion programmes aimed at safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of girls and children in the communities.
Malam Lawal Attahiru Bakori expressed concern over the habit of some social media handlers who publish unverified content without considering its impact on society.
The General Manager who commended the Dikko Radda-led administration for the total resuscitation of the state owned media stations,also appealed to relevant stakeholders and the general public to support Media Organizations to function effectively and efficiently.
The General Manager added that Radio remains a vital tool for enlightening the members of the public, advising media practitioners in the state to uphold professionalism and fairness in their reportage.
