    GMSG RECRUITED 1000 TEACHER’S,PROMOTED OVER 3000 TEACHERS.

    The Chairperson, Gombe State Teachers Service Commission, Mrs. Naomi Philip Maiguwa, today led members of the Commission and Management staff on a courtesy visit to the Head of Civil Service, Prof. Muazu Shehu, at the OHOCS Conference Hall.*

    Mrs. Maiguwa congratulated Prof. Muazu on his appointment as the Head of Civil Service of Gombe State. She commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, for his foresight in appointing Prof. Muazu, citing his experience in administration and scholarship. She expressed confidence in his leadership to reposition the civil service, prayed for his success, and assured him of TSC’s loyalty to the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration.

    This was contained in a statement signed by the information officer,office of the state head of service issued to newsmen.

    Highlighting the mandate of the TSC, the Chairperson listed teachers’ recruitment, promotion, and discipline. She enumerated successes recorded under her leadership, including:

    1. Recruitment of over 1,000 teachers for the state.

    2. Promotion of over 3,000 teachers in the State.

    3. Transfer of over 300 teachers from LEA to the state service

    She expressed that there is a vacuum created as a result of retirement, death and transfer of Teachers in the State, and also called for recruitment of more qualified teachers as well as Office Furniture and Equipments for effective service delivery.

    In his response, the Head of Civil Service, Prof. Muazu Shehu Usman, thanked the TSC leadership for the goodwill and support. He expressed that he was humbled by the confidence and trust reposed in him to propel the civil service to greater heights.

    Prof. Muazu commended the TSC for its critical role in education development and praised Mrs. Maiguwa for the achievements recorded under her watch, urging her to sustain the tempo. He assured the Commission of necessary support, noting that both institutions share the goal of a successful civil service.

    He lauded TSC’s recruitment policy as “a step in the right direction” and disclosed that OHOCS is also preparing a training policy document for the Gombe State Civil Service to promote knowledge sharing in the digital era. He promised a sustained partnership with TSC and reiterated that his doors remain open for advice and counseling to move the civil service forward.

    Present at the visit were the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Service Matters, OHOCS, Mrs. Sa’adatu Bome Ishaya, Directors of OHOCS, and other senior staff.
