Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has approved the appointment of Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Adamu as the Acting Provost of the College of Education, Billiri, Gombe State.
A statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli DG Press Affairs Gombe state government house said the appointment was conveyed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who explained that the decision followed the exit of the substantive Provost, Dr. Bertha Danja, following her appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.
Until this appointment, Dr. Abdulrahman Adamu served as the Deputy Provost of the College.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed confidence that the Acting Provost will bring his wealth of experience, professionalism and leadership acumen to bear in providing purposeful leadership, consolidating the institution’s achievements and advancing its mandate of producing highly skilled teachers while strengthening the state’s education sector.
The appointment takes effect from 24th July, 2026.
