In his preamble, the Registrar, Aliyu Abubakar Bafeto, highlighted the provisions of the University laws guiding Congregation meetings and emphasized their significance. He noted that Congregation serves as a vital platform for staff of the University who hold degrees from institutions recognized by the University to engage with the University leadership on the institution’s direction and progress. According to him, such meetings promote transparency and accountability by enabling the Vice-Chancellor and Management to present reports on achievements, challenges, and future plans, while also providing staff the opportunity to contribute ideas, feedback, and recommendations.
A major highlight of the meeting was the comprehensive address delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, who presented a report on academic activities, infrastructural development, and administrative progress across the University. The report also outlined existing challenges and the strategic measures being implemented to address them.
The presentation was followed by constructive deliberations, during which members of the Congregation commended the Vice-Chancellor for the achievements recorded so far.
The Congregation made valuable suggestions to the University Management and further expressed strong confidence in his leadership, acknowledging the visible progress made in key sectors of the University, and passed a vote of confidence in his administration.
