…. Emir of Katsina Calls for Unity, Describes Ceremony as Unprecedented in His Reign

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, CON, joined the Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf; the Governor of Zinder State, Damagaram (Republic of Niger); and the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, alongside other prominent dignitaries, at the turbaning ceremony of three newly appointed District Heads held at the Emir’s Palace, Katsina.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, chief press secretary to the Governor, said the colourful and well-attended ceremony drew traditional rulers, senior government officials, political leaders, business executives, and guests from within and outside Nigeria.

It was presided over by the Emir of Katsina, His Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.

Earlier, the Kauran Katsina and District Head of Rimi, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Abdulkadir, formally presented the newly appointed District Heads to the Emir for the turbaning rites.

Those turbaned are: Alhaji Ahmad Abdulmumini Kabir Usman as Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama; Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda as Gwagwaren Katsina II and District Head of Radda; and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu as Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.

In his remarks, the Emir of Katsina expressed appreciation for the unprecedented turnout, describing the occasion as the largest gathering witnessed in his reign.

“In the history of my reign in Katsina, we have not witnessed a gathering of this nature. I could not have imagined that this event would attract such a remarkable crowd and level of participation,” the Emir said.

He commended all dignitaries and guests for their orderly conduct, urging them to continue to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Emirate in their various capacities.

The Emir further called on the people to uphold Islamic teachings, stressing the importance of faith, discipline, and strong moral values in building a peaceful society.

“We must avoid envy and jealousy among ourselves. Instead, we should promote love, understanding, and mutual respect,” he added.

He also emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among citizens, calling on traditional and religious leaders to sustain efforts in promoting peace, stability, and development.

According to him, collective responsibility and support for one another—especially the less privileged—remain essential for societal progress and divine blessings.

Dignitaries at the event included the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel; the Emir of Daura, His Highness Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk; and the Sultan of Damagaram (Zinder, Niger Republic), El Hadji Aboubacar Oumarou Sanda.

Others were prominent businessman Alhaji Dahiru Mangal; Special Adviser on Political Matters, Kabir Ibrahim Masari; two Senators from Katsina South and Funtua zones; National Coordinator of AUDA-NEPAD, Hon. Salisu Jabiru Tsauri; members of the Katsina and Daura Emirate Councils; National Assembly members; members of the State House of Assembly; local government chairmen; and other distinguished guests.
