Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced that the State Government will establish a General Hospital in Danja Local Government Area next year to improve access to quality healthcare services.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said Governor Radda made this known when stakeholders from Danja Local Government Area visited the Government House to express their appreciation for the turbaning of the District Head of Dabai, Alhaji Gambo Abdullahi, as Dausayin Katsina by the Emir of Katsina.

The Governor described the traditional institution as an important pillar of peace, security and social cohesion in communities.

He said traditional rulers remained indispensable partners in governance, particularly in promoting unity, resolving communal challenges and ensuring peaceful coexistence among the people.

Governor Radda noted that, in recognition of the important responsibilities of traditional institutions, his administration had enhanced the ranks and salaries of Dagattai and District Heads, while providing allowances to Village Heads to strengthen their capacity to effectively discharge their duties.

“We recognise the important role traditional institutions play in maintaining peace, security and unity in our communities. They are critical partners in governance, and we will continue to support them in carrying out their responsibilities,” the Governor said.

He assured the delegation that the State Government would carefully consider the concerns and demands presented by the people of Danja and take appropriate steps to address the issues raised.

Governor Radda further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to establishing a General Hospital in Danja, saying the project had been captured in the 2027 budget.

“We will establish a General Hospital in Danja next year. It is in our 2027 budget. This is part of our commitment to bringing quality healthcare services closer to our people and improving healthcare delivery across the state,” he said.

The Governor stressed that the proposed hospital would complement ongoing efforts by his administration to improve healthcare infrastructure and ensure that residents, particularly those in rural communities, have better access to medical services.

He assured the people of Danja that his administration would continue to implement projects and programmes that directly respond to the needs of communities across the state.

Earlier, Chairman of Danja Local Government Area, Hon. Rabo Tambaya, thanks Governor Radda for his administration’s numerous development interventions in Danja and across Katsina State.

Hon. Tambaya particularly commended the Governor for his commitment to improving infrastructure, strengthening social services and implementing programmes aimed at enhancing the wellbeing and socio-economic development of the people.

He also appreciated the Governor for recognising the contributions of traditional institutions to peace, security and community development.

Also speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Economy, Engr. Yakubu Nuhu Danja, presented the concerns, requests and priority needs of the people of Danja Local Government Area.

Engr. Danja appealed to the Governor to consider the various demands presented by the delegation and take appropriate measures to address the challenges confronting the Local Government Area.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Radda for the administration’s continued attention to the development needs of Danja and its people.

The visit was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; members of the Katsina State Executive Council; and other senior government officials.
