In a significant demonstration of his administration’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of retirees, the Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal, has approved a ₦32,000 monthly pension increment for all pensioners in the state.

A statement signed by the state commissioner ministry of information and culture Mahmud Mohamed Dantawasa said the increment, which is in addition to the existing monthly pensions currently being paid, will benefit both State and Local Government pensioners across Zamfara State.

It said that as part of the Governor’s directive, the Accountant General of the State has been instructed to commence the immediate implementation and payment of the ₦32,000 monthly increment to all eligible pensioners without delay.

The approval is another clear demonstration of the Rescue Mission Administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of senior citizens and ensuring that retired public servants who devoted their productive years to the service of Zamfara State receive the support and dignity they deserve.

Governor Dauda Lawal remains committed to implementing people-oriented policies aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic challenges, while fulfilling his administration’s obligations to workers, pensioners, and all citizens of the state.

The Zamfara State Government reassures pensioners that it will continue to prioritize their welfare through policies and programmes designed to improve their standard of living and guarantee their well-being.
