The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, was in Maiduguri on Saturday, where he joined dignitaries from across the country to witness the wedding fatiha of children of his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.
A statement signed by the DG Press Affairs, Gombe State Government House said the weddings of Umar Babagana Umara, Mamman Babagana Umara, Abba Abubakar Umara and Aisha Babagana Umara took place at the palace of the Shehu of Borno in accordance with Islamic rites.
The event was attended by frontline political leaders, traditional rulers and other eminent personalities, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, state governors, ministers, members of the National Assembly and other top government officials.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya congratulated Professor Zulum and his family on the joyous occasion, describing it as a moment of gratitude to Almighty Allah and a celebration of family and unity.
He prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the newlyweds and urged them to build their homes on the enduring values of faith, patience, mutual respect and understanding, which he said is essential for a successful and lasting marriage.
The NSGF Chairman also emphasized the sanctity of marriage as a cornerstone of societal stability, encouraging the couples to be worthy ambassadors of their families and uphold the virtues of responsibility and good character.
