Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has congratulated His Royal Highness, the Balaa Waja, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Danjuma Muhammad II, on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of his reign, describing the milestone as a celebration of an enduring legacy of exemplary leadership, peace and service to humanity.

In a congratulatory message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya paid glowing tribute to the first-class traditional ruler, whose 25 years on the throne, he noted, have been distinguished by wisdom, humility, dignity and commitment to the unity, stability and socio-economic advancement of the Waja Chiefdom.

A statement signed by the DG Press Affairs Gombe state government house Ismaila Uba Misilli said the Governor commended the revered monarch for his fatherly guidance and steadfast role in promoting peaceful coexistence and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Waja people.

“I am delighted to join the good people of the Waja Chiefdom, at home and in the diaspora, in celebrating His Royal Highness on this historic Silver Jubilee.

Your reign has brought immense honour to the traditional institution and remarkable progress to your people through your exemplary leadership, wisdom and commitment to peace and development,” the Governor stated.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed delight that, during the reign of the Balaa Waja Danjuma Muhammad, the present administration in the State has executed several landmark projects across the Waja Kingdom, in line with government’s commitment to inclusive development and equitable distribution of democratic dividends.

He identified the construction of the strategic road linking the northern and southern parts of Balanga Local Government Area as one of the most transformative infrastructure projects in the area, noting that it has significantly enhanced connectivity, boosted trade and agricultural activities and opened up rural communities to greater economic opportunities.

The Governor also referenced the ongoing 1-Megawatt Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid Project at Tallase, which is set to restore electricity to communities after years of blackout, providing reliable and clean energy to homes, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and small-scale industries.

He also cited the construction and upgrade of schools and healthcare facilities across the chiefdom, as well as the landmark 620kVA Balanga Dam Clean Energy Project, combining hydropower and solar energy, which will position the area as a hub for renewable energy, irrigation and agricultural value chains.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya stressed his administration’s commitment to sustaining its productive partnership with the traditional institution in order to accelerate rural and expand rural development opportunities, and improve the wellbeing of the people.
