Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of elder statesman and community leader, Alhaji Manu Malala, who died yesterday in Gombe after a protracted illness.
A statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli DG press affairs Gombe State government house said Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who personally led a government delegation to attend the funeral prayer (Janazah) held at the Bubayero Central Mosque, Emir’s Palace Gombe, described the late Alhaji Manu Malala as a patriot, grassroots mobilizer and selfless public servant whose life was defined by service, humility, and commitment to community development.
The Governor noted that the deceased made remarkable contributions to the growth and development of Gombe State through his various public service roles, including his service as Local Government Secretary, member of the Civil Service Commission Board and several other responsibilities that impacted governance and public administration.
He particularly recalled the late elder statesman’s invaluable contributions to grassroots politics and community leadership, noting that his wisdom, experience and bridge-building role earned him respect across political and social divides.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the passing of Alhaji Manu Malala is a painful loss to Gombe State and its people.
On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, the Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Chairman of Dukku Local Government, Hon. Umar Manu Malala, his siblings and the entire Manu Malala family over the great loss.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, reward his lifetime of service to humanity and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
