Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has formally received prominent People’s Democratic Party (PDP) member, Yusha’u Yakubu Dan Auta, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusha’u Yakubu Dan Auta, a former councillor, former Senior Special Assistant and well-known radio commentator, officially declared his allegiance to the APC after a meeting with Governor Inuwa Yahaya, during which he pledged his loyalty, support and commitment to the success of the party and its leadership.
Speaking shortly after his defection, Dan Auta praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his exceptional maturity, courage and political acumen demonstrated over the years. He noted that even while in opposition, he had always admired the governor’s style of leadership and ability to steer the affairs of the state with stability and vision.
He also commended the emergence of Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, describing the choice as timely and strategic for the continued progress of Gombe State.
Dan Auta further lauded Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s acceptance to contest for the Gombe North Senatorial seat.
The former PDP stalwart assured the APC leadership that he would deploy his God-given communication skills and public influence to mobilize support for all APC candidates and promote the party’s message across the state.
A statement signed by the DG press affairs Gombe State government house Ismaila Uba Misilli said receiving the defecting politician, Governor Inuwa Yahaya welcomed him into the APC fold and commended his decision to join the ruling party, describing it as a bold step taken in the interest of unity, progress and the development of Gombe State.
