Gombe State Governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, last night received Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
A statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli ,DG Press affairs Gombe State government house said Senator Yaro, who represents Gombe South Senatorial District, becomes the latest in a string of key defections engineered under Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership.
Recall that Governor Inuwa Yahaya had earlier secured the defection of three federal lawmakers from opposition ranks into the APC, including the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ali Isa JC, the member representing Dukku/ Nafada Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed and his Yamaltu Deba counterpart, Hon. Inuwa Garba.
With these developments, the APC in Gombe State has tightened its grip, effectively consolidating its political dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya was joined at the reception by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Usman Bello Kumo and the APC Deputy National Financial Secretary,Hon. Hamma Adama Ali Kumo.
