Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has formally received prominent politician and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Board of Trustees ( BoT) member, Hajiya Aishatu MB Ahmad, into the All Progressives Congress (APC)
A senior figure in the opposite party and former Commissioner of Education during the Dankwambo administration, Hajiya Aishatu MB Ahmad had maintained a visible presence in electoral politics, having contested twice for the House of Representatives seat to represent Akko Federal Constituency under the PDP.
A statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli , DG press affairs Gombe State government house said prior to her exit, Hajiya Aishatu held a meeting with Governor Inuwa Yahaya at the Government House, where she expressed deep admiration for his leadership style and described his nearly seven-year administration as transformative and impactful.
Explaining her decision, Hajiya Aishatu said her move followed extensive consultations and personal reflection, coupled with her growing confidence in the APC’s vision and the leadership direction being championed by Governor Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe State.
“Having devoted a significant part of my public and political life to service, I remain committed to contributing meaningfully to the growth and progress of Gombe State and Nigeria through the APC platform,” she stated.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya warmly welcomed the former PDP chieftain into the APC, expressing appreciation for her decision to join the ruling party.
The Governor described her defection as a major addition to the APC’s growing political family, citing her vast experience, leadership qualities and contributions to public service.
He assured the former Education Commissioner that she would be accorded full respect and treated as a valued member of the APC family, stressing that the party remains open to all individuals committed to the progress, unity and development of Gombe State.
