    * “You Have Not Disappointed Us With the Trust Reposed in You by the People of Katsina LG,” Radda Tells LG Chairman

    * Urges Sustained Grassroots Development

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, yesterday commissioned the newly constructed Late Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda Maternity and Children’s Health Clinic in Gidan Dawa, Katsina metropolis.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad chief press secretary to the Governor said the facility, constructed by the Katsina Local Government Council under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Hon. Isah Miqdad A.D. Saude, will provide quality maternal, child and general healthcare services to residents of Gidan Dawa and neighbouring communities.

Governor Radda praised the Local Government Chairman for completing the project within a short period and prioritising the healthcare needs of women and children.

“We are commissioning this modern maternity and children’s healthcare facility, completed by the Katsina Local Government Council in less than one month to improve healthcare services for women, expectant mothers and children. I commend the Executive Chairman for this remarkable initiative,” the Governor stated.

The Governor said the project reflected the confidence reposed in the local government leadership by the people and urged the Chairman to remain focused on delivering more impactful projects.

“You have not disappointed us with the opportunity and trust given to you by the people of Katsina Local Government. Continue to provide projects and programmes that will improve the lives of the people.” he confirmed.

Governor Radda noted the strategic importance of Katsina Local Government to the overall development of the state, saying its size, population and political significance make its performance critical to the success of the state.

“As our APC State Chairman rightly observed, Katsina Local Government is comparable to several local governments combined. Therefore, when Katsina Local Government performs well, Katsina State also moves forward.” he added.

The Governor also commended the Executive Chairman, Vice Chairman and councillors for working together to advance development in the area.

Governor Radda disclosed that while the state government regularly receives reports on the performance of local governments across Katsina State, Katsina Local Government has recorded relatively fewer complaints, urging the council to sustain the impressive performance.

“We receive numerous reports and inquiries about the activities of local governments across the state, but we receive very few complaints concerning Katsina Local Government. This shows that you are doing well, and I encourage you to continue on this path.” he noted.

He further praised the Chairman for his humility and willingness to seek guidance from experienced leaders.

“The Honourable Commissioner for Health has already highlighted the support we have provided to strengthen healthcare delivery. I will not repeat that. What is important is that the Chairman is a humble leader who listens to advice and works closely with elders and stakeholders.” he said.

Governor Radda also appreciated the people of Katsina Local Government for their continued cooperation and support for the administration’s development agenda.

The Governor described the naming of the healthcare facility after his late mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda, as deeply emotional and expressed profound gratitude to the Katsina Local Government Council for the honour.

“Today’s event is very emotional for me because this healthcare facility has been named after my late mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda. I sincerely thank the Executive Chairman and the entire Katsina Local Government Council for immortalising her memory. May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.” he prayed.

Governor Radda urged residents of Gidan Dawa and neighbouring communities to make effective use of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance for the benefit of present and future generations.

He also thanked traditional rulers, religious leaders, political stakeholders, members of the business community, healthcare workers and community leaders for their contributions to the successful completion of the project.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Katsina Local Government Council, Hon. Isah Miqdad A.D. Saude, said the project was conceived after the council found that the existing dispensary had deteriorated beyond acceptable standards and could no longer adequately serve the healthcare needs of the community.

He explained that instead of renovating the old structure, the council opted to construct a modern healthcare facility that would provide a lasting solution and improve access to quality healthcare services.

The Chairman said the facility offers maternal and child healthcare services, general medical care for men and women, separate admission wards for male and female patients, furnished staff offices and hospital beds donated by members of the community.

He added that the healthcare centre would complement existing health facilities within the area, reduce patient congestion and improve healthcare delivery across Gidan Dawa and neighbouring communities.

Hon. Saude noted that naming the facility after Late Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda was intended to immortalise a woman remembered for her compassion, sacrifice and dedication to family and society.

Equally Speaking, Katsina State Commissioner for Health, Hon. Musa Adamu Funtua, said healthcare remains a top priority of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda’s administration.

He commended, Hon. Isah Miqdad A.D. Saude, for constructing the hospital and praised him for naming it after the Governor’s late mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda, while paying tribute to the late father of the Council Chairman.

On his part, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa, said the hospital would improve healthcare services for women, children and expectant mothers.

He also commended Governor Radda for upgrading healthcare facilities and recruiting more health workers, noting that the new hospital would reduce congestion at major hospitals in the state.

Goodwill messages were delivered by Hon. Abdullahi Yusuf, Councillor representing South III Ward, Alhaji Sabo Musa Hassan, Chairman of the South III Ward Elders Forum, and other community leaders.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe; members of Katsina State executive Council; stakeholders of Katsina Local Government Area; traditional and community leaders.
