Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of nine residents of Mahuta Village in Dandume Local Government Area, describing the incident as a painful loss to the entire state.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, chief press secretary to the Governor, said the victims lost their lives while returning from a visit to their children at the Federal Government College, Malumfashi.

During a condolence visit to the community, Governor Radda conveyed the sympathies of the Katsina State Government and announced a donation of ₦2 million to the bereaved families to ease their immediate hardship.

“This is a heartbreaking tragedy for all of us. On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire Mahuta community. We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and gives their loved ones the strength to bear this painful loss,” Governor Radda said.

The Governor assured the people of Mahuta that his administration would continue to prioritize their welfare and remain responsive to the needs of communities across the state.

Responding on behalf of the affected families, the Village Head of Mahuta, Alhaji Sani Hamza, expressed appreciation to Governor Radda for personally visiting the community to offer condolences and for the financial support extended to the bereaved families.

He noted that the Governor’s visit brought comfort to the grieving community and commended his administration for the developmental projects already executed in the area, which he said have significantly improved the lives of the people.

The Village Head also appealed to the State Government to consider the construction of the Yabasu–Jika–Baraje–Layin Kadanya–Tunburkai road, as well as the Dandume–Mahuta–Funtua road, for inclusion in the next state budget.
